10 Reasons Why Google is the Future

Why do I feel this is tomorrow's world.

Yes it's true, I do love Google. But they always entice me into new products, and before I know it I am using it everyday. So why should you use it for more than searching answers, but as a service that can cater for a lot of your needs? Because it's the future of our computing lifestyles, and here are my 10 reasons why.

1. If You Can't Be Found on Google, You Don't Exist.

Every company, organisation and group knows the importance of Google. As someone who has a small side business knows the importance of being found on Google. When was the last time that you looked in the yellow pages for a number? Also when was the last time you Ask Jeeves anything?

2. The Cloud

Google develop in all areas, and encourage everyone to join in. I actually found myself using docs more than other office suites. True cloud computing that involves collaboration, sharing and anywhere access on a multitude of devices. Before anyone says iCloud, it doesn't compare, its nothing more than a jumped up online file storage.

3. Android and Chrome OS

Google are working to unify the mobile OS and their netbook variety. One OS to run on a netbook, one OS to run on mobile, one OS to rule them all.

4. The Androids are Taking Over!

How to make an Android device. Get hardware, develop android and load it on. Car manufacturers, smart tv and home entertainment are looking to android for its unbelievable flexibility as an alternative to clunky firmware. And not forgetting homebrew application and project that test to the limit. Check this out.

5. True Innovation

When someone said to me "hey they are going to take images of the world, from satellite to street level, and give you access for free", I thought that is very stupid. Now, like many, I can't imagine being without it. My eyes were opened like Neo taking that red pill. This is innovation, not doing the same again ... eh hem Bing maps.

6. Google+

"Hey Dom, have you smoking something? Google+? Really?" Ok, have you used it? no really, a half hour click onto it and back to Facebook doesn't count. I mean I Facebook, I Tumblr, I YouTube (Reason number 7), and when they released Google+ I was very very sceptical about it. I mean ANOTHER social network. I signed up and didn't use it. Got the App, didn't use it. Set up my profile, didn't use it. But then one of my favourite blogs was on it, so I added it to my Circles, of which I looked at his Circle, and added a few more, and then people started adding me. And then without realising I was checking it more than my Facebook, I mean Photos of the Universe from Hubble in my Stream as suppose to: "Lauren is going shopping!!" comment "HA HA LOLZ!" in my feed.

7. YouTube

Not sure if many people know this, but Google own YouTube, more content for you, for free. I need to embed a Video - YouTube, I need to find out how to do something - YouTube, I need a visual example - YouTube ... in fact here is one.

8. Google Shape New Conventions

I was a very early converter to Google Chrome. A browser I just fell in love with, and doesn't let me down, unlike my ex. And then someone said to me "hey have you seen the latest Opera, its amazing!" Mmm looks like Chrome, new Internet Explorer, looks like Chrome. Oh new Firefox oh yes you've guessed. Everyone has followed the complete rethink of the internet browser to Chrome. I personally believe that Google Music will reshape the music industry.

9. Power to the People

An Android phone is a phone the way you want it. The Chrome Browser is a browser the way you want it. Gmail is an email client the way you want it. I could go on, but for example if you buy any iOS device, you have to use iTunes, and in my opinion is a horrid piece of software. So many other devices connect and drag  and drop, or exchange through the Cloud no worries no fuss. So why are Apple so insistent that you have to plug into a machine and sync your device as if it was a PDA from the 90's, because they want your device the way they want it.

10. One Love, One Heart, Let's Get Together and Feel Alright

I need to record music, I need to record edit and publish video, I need to email, I need to blog, I need to create office documents, I need to create a CAD drawing, I need to edit and store photos, I need to find out how to get somewhere, I need a calendar, I need ebooks, I need papers for research, I need an RSS reader, I need to translate something, I need to just simply find information. Start with Google, and it's all there.

Disagree?? Then Leave a Comment. For now ....
