Back to Droid

So after 6 months without my android phone, and with an iPhone 4, I have bought myself a Nexus 7. Here are some things I have missed from this mobile OS.

1. Home screen. Having a home screen the I can configure to my needs and with widgets where I don't even have to go into apps to get relevant information is so good and fast to access what I need.
2. Keyboard. I actually get infuriated with the iOS keyboard. I find the auto correct stupid and more manual correct and small things like no capitalisation on hitting the shift key and punctuation on the first keyboard screen. Also with Android 4.2 the swipe keyboard is leaps and bounds quicker and more accurate.
3. Functionality. The age old debate of functionality against intuitiveness, but I want to do the most with my device. Start torrents, full integration of every app with one another and control of every device in my home.
4. A back button. I know it's small but the usefulness of a back button is awesome. When moving between apps continuously having a back is a lot quicker then having to go back to the home screen 90% of the time.
5. A device that is mine. When using Android, I feel that I use something that is mine and for me, when I use my iPhone it fell like Apple owns it and I am at their whim.
Many other reasons are included that really stand out but this my top 5, to be honest there are things that iOS has that Android doesnt. Having one of each device is maybe the way forward.
